RSI is currently recruiting an IT Specialist- I to work part-time or full-time.  The IT Specialist-I position is part of the IT Team and primarily handles service requests from end users of the company.  A successful candidate will accomplish daily tasks and have time to peruse projects of interest that accomplish the mission of RSI.   The schedule for the position is Monday-Friday first shift.  Evening and weekend work is rare, but may happen as needed during down time events.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Associate's degree (at minimum) in Information Technology, Informatics, Network Administration, or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution.
    • In Lieu of Formal Education a combination of industry certification and experience. 
    • Internship candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • NC Driver's license (class C) or equivalent and reliable transportation.
  • Successfully completed a criminal background check, drug screening test and credit check.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. with our without accommodation. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
  • Exposure to diverse technical environments
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot problems, determine strategies to resolve issues and consistently implement effective solutions.
  • Exposure to Ubuntu Linux.
  • Exposure to networking IEEE standards including 802.11bgn, 802.1q, and 802.3 and CDP.
  • Exposure to Firewalls, NAT, TCP and UDP port forwarding.
  • Exposure to disk imaging solutions.
  • Exposure to Windows Active Directory.

    General Responsibilities:

    1. Installing, administering and troubleshooting network hardware, desktop computer systems and software systems including all RSI computers.

           2. Primary helpdesk representative.

           3. Implement RSI's Policies and Procedures.

           4. Strive to create a work environment defined by RSI Values and CARE, function as a positive role model for residents and other staff, and be a part of advancing the Mission and Vision of RSI.
